Vince Bonaventura became an electrical and civil engineer in the 1950s. He worked as a general contractor, a member of the Federal Aviation Administration, and an employee of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. During his last ten years at The Port Authority, Vince was offered the position of General Manager of Newark Airport. This was a wonderful opportunity and he jumped at the chance to use all his experience to help build Newark Airport into what it is today; those were years of extraordinary growth.

Vince and his wife Frances lived in Garden City on Long Island for 36 years, where they attended St. Joseph’s church. During that time, he sang in the choir each week and also was the leader of song on the alter for almost 30 years. After moving to Whitehouse Station in 2002, Vince sang in the Our Lady of Lourdes choir. Both on Long Island and in New Jersey, Vince also sang monthly with groups who entertained the sick, the mentally ill and the elderly. In addition to his passion for music, Vince had a love of gardening and, most of all, he loved his wife and family dearly.

Vince Bonaventura will always be remembered as a kind, decent, honest, talented, very good man. He is survived by his wife Frances as well as his children Vincent, Richard and Lisa, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed.
